S.F.T. Private Security Services LTD successfully delivered a project to create a multi-layered security system for a premium catamaran, integrating advanced video surveillance, intrusion and fire alarm systems, leak detection, and intelligent navigation safety into a single unified ecosystem.

A modern yacht or catamaran is not just a means of transportation. It is a high-value asset, a space for leisure, travel, and privacy, where security must operate flawlessly, remain unobtrusive to the owner, and be effective in any situation — whether in a marina or on the open sea.

Intelligent Video Surveillance

The foundation of the project was a video surveillance system based on Hikvision solutions, enhanced with next-generation neural network analytics.

The system provides:

  • 24/7 visual monitoring of both interior and exterior areas of the vessel
  • Intelligent detection of people, boats, and other objects
  • Monitoring of decks, boarding areas, and access points
  • Video-based verification of alarm events
  • Reduction of false alarms through AI analytics

Neural network analytics allows the system to distinguish real threats from natural marine factors such as wave motion, sun glare, precipitation, vessel movement, and other environmental interferences.

To protect the catamaran from unauthorized access, a modern intrusion detection system was deployed, securing all key areas of the vessel.

Implemented features include:

  • Monitoring of door, hatch, and technical compartment openings
  • Motion sensors in interior spaces
  • Control of onboard access points
  • Protection of crew quarters and private areas
  • Flexible arming/disarming scenarios by zones
  • Instant alerts to the owner and responsible personnel
  • Remote system management

The system is highly adaptable to different operational scenarios: marina docking, crew presence, maintenance periods, or long-term unattended conditions.

Fire Protection and Critical Systems Monitoring

Early threat detection is crucial in marine environments. For this reason, the project includes a comprehensive system for fire safety and engineering risk monitoring.

The system includes:

  • Smoke detectors
  • Heat sensors
  • Monitoring of technical compartments
  • Surveillance of high-risk areas
  • Water leak sensors
  • Detection of water ingress into critical compartments
  • Automated alarm scenarios and instant notifications

This ensures that potential issues are identified at an early stage—before they escalate into serious incidents.

Intelligent Navigation Safety

An additional high-tech layer of protection was implemented through the installation of the Watchkeeper 640S artificial vision system by SEA.AI.

The system provides:

  • Smoke detectors
  • Heat sensors
  • Monitoring of technical compartments
  • Surveillance of high-risk areas
  • Water leak sensors
  • Detection of water ingress into critical compartments
  • Automated alarm scenarios and instant notifications

In essence, the system acts as an additional electronic observer, continuously analyzing the vessel’s surroundings.
